I Am Taking My Life Back

I gave you my heart and you broke it
You made our relationship crack
You made me give you all of me
Now I am taking my life back

You don’t deserve my heart
You don’t deserve my love
I know this, because I gave it all
But to you it wasn’t enough

I still cry myself to sleep at night
“God help me” I do pray
I may forever love you
But I am taking back my life today

I am taking back my life
Though you left it broken
You will realize that I am really gone
When in years to you I haven’t spoken

I have to pick up every piece
Of my life you left shattered
But my life I’m taking back
Because to you it didn’t matter

Overthinking all the hurt you caused
And all the things you said
I am broken into pieces
But I am taking my life back

You have no more chances 
I ain’t cutting you some slack
I will fix my life on my own
Yes, I am taking my life back

You will only wonder what could have been
When I’m done fixing every crack
It won’t be easy, it may take a while
But my life I’m taking back

A while from now you will look at me
Wishing there was something you could say
It will be too late
Because I am taking back my life today
