The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

I Am Still Your Mother

i chose the loneliest road somehow
coming back to you
trying to change my life for us
but becoming what i knew

times that i could not control
and the things that would be gone
lost my way in my own world
still living what was wrong

listening to that bitter song
i believed the same old lies
fighting to get back to you
but stuck on this other side

my words seem weak, theres no excuse
i gave up way too soon
i used to be strong and hard to beat
but this fight has been painful and long

the price for what i did we paid
with God as my own witness
but once i give my sin to him
we all must let him take it

others who are not like me
might handle life much better
but i am my Father's little girl
and i am still your Mother

i'm sorry, i cannot change the past
but we still have a future
its bad enough, whats done is done
lets live today together

it cannot be like it was before
but someday it will seem
we were not apart at all
it was all a terrible dream

my love for you will make a way
and the days will then be long
we will spend the rest of our life
and our love will stay this strong

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
