I Am Sorry

I am sorry,
Not because I was innocent,
Not because you lost a case,
I am sorry,
Because you couldn’t see
All the wrong you did to me.
I’m sorry,
Because you weren’t straight with me,
But instead you thought of yourself.
I don’t know what you thought you’d get,
But I could see you’re disappointed.
I don’t know what you wanted to achieve,
But you took away some of my rights,
You broke me down mentally.
You dragged my name trough the mud,
But that was not enough.
You took away my right to be human,
But still that was not enough.
When will it stop?
Just be careful or you’ll lose even more.

Wow, great poem, Tanya. Your honest expression of pain felt, and the peaceful warning of losing more, if this continues is deeply expressed. Enjoyable overall. Check out some of my poems, might find some you like. Peace.
