I Am Not Entitled

A gorgeous butterfly
A beautiful flower blooming
Aware of the distress that unbridled hands can bring
I don't try to hold them
Pick their petals
Or run my hands along their stems
Or wings
I take in the way they look
Admire them for an instant
And leave them be
I feel like
just because something is appealing
And I might want it to be mine
Doesn't give me the right
To stop
And treat it like it does
