I Am Not Afraid

On the day the Lord calls me home I will not be afraid as I know He loves us one and all and to this earth we are only on loan We have spent all our lives here with family and friends and so we leave this earth to go home to be with our Lord and our family and friends who have gone home to Heaven before us And so our lives go full circle as the Lord sent us down from Heaven to accomplish the things He wants us to do here on earth and as we complete this we will be called back home to heaven to live forevermore I am not afraid as I patiently wait for my call to enter the Kingdom Of Heaven where I will wait for my family and friends to come home and be with our Lord forevermore. Carol, I too was curious to read your first post. I am happy to read of your faith. One of the most precious gifts from God is the assurance of being counted among His children. There should be no doubt to whom we belong. Your poem gives hope to those who are bound by the lies of the adversary who tries to convince us God could not forgive our sins. I'm reminded of a nice rebuff to Satan. "When he begins reminding me of my past I remind him of his future" I am a warrior and you strengthen me...

Thanks, Carol for the warm welcome to Poetry Soup, and for your beautiful poem "I am not Afraid". It means a lot to me after comforting a friend as she wrestled with her failing body being tortured by cancer. She had a will to live, but in the face of the Word..."absent from the body, present with the Lord", she welcomed heaven after a short but strong fight! She went home unafraid and worshiping! PTL!
