I am me
I dont need 
these clothes
this hair 
these shoes
to define me
I dont need 
your words
your 
comments
your opinions
to describe 
me
I dont want 
my region 
or education 
or religion to 
identify me
I am me

Take away my 
fancies
all the silver 
all thr gold
Take away my 
friends
all these 
buildings 
all my books
Take away my 
diamonds
all my riches
all my wealth 
I'll still be me

Give me the 
drums
the rhythm 
the dance
give me the 
music 
the mask
the claps
give me my 
home 
my people
my tradition
Thats wat 
defines me
My homeland
Africa
