I Am Loved

love was the joke on me
a longed for feeling
an illusion
elusive silliness

i made one love me
unconditionally
a god
an illusion
he loved me so well
nothing i did would stop
the caring and interest
directed to me
or at me
from me
the illusion
died

no one cared
the one that never existed was gone

now i know love
it exists
it is real
there is someone
who loves
me

he is real
no illusion
i am not afraid
it is not scary
it is a knowing
the most peaceful knowing

i am loved
