I Am Just Me

I Am Just Me

I am not like you
I was born this way
I had no choice
Even though I am not handsome
I am not beautiful
Not to the common standards
I have friends who like me
A family who loves me
I try to play in the park
I try to go to school
But, people don’t see me
They don’t try and get to know me
To see the normal child I am
They only see a monster
A freak to be feared
Something to be made fun of
I will cry in my bed
Not want to go out of my house
Maybe someday they will learn
God made me the way I am
And I am just a child
Not a monster
Not a freak
I am just me
