I Am Grateful For
I am grateful for my legs, my sight, my hearing, my smile, and mornings.
For health, happiness, God, meditation, prayer, the sun, and the sky.
I am grateful for coffee, cereal, yogurt, my husband’s face, and my dog Sophie.
For respect, a career, joy, enthusiasm, and my father’s thick hair which I got by and by.
I am grateful for a cool September day, and that my mother is no longer suffering.
For my three daughters, two sons in law, and ten grandchildren I love.
Oh, golly, and I am grateful for Shark, my cat, who gets me up better than an alarm clock.
I am grateful for spiritual guides who keep me busy, those muses from above.
I am grateful for my friends, who keep me honest, calling me on stuff I try to pull off.
For the heroes of the world who are keeping us safe – nurses, firemen, doctors and police.
I am grateful that I do not have the virus, a fever, aching feelings, a chill or a cough.
For so many people who want help others, inspire, encourage and work toward world peace.
I am grateful for so many. Some I have met, others I might never know.
For those who selflessly give of their wealth, knowledge and time.
I am grateful for life, love, language, writing, art and poetry too.
For environmentalists, angels, and the work that they do.
