I Am Glad You Called
I am glad you called, the neighbor gossip said.
You know our friend who had a heart attack?
The one next door? Yes. She has had a brain bleed.
That sounds horrible.
And the woman across the street, she got her leg run over by a car.
What happened?
She was getting out and the car rolled over her leg.
Forgot to put it in park?
No. Her husband was driving it.
Was this the guy who tried to kill her last week?
Uh-huh.
What’s she going to do about it?
What can she do? She is too old to work, a bit lazy I guess.
Isn’t she in her eighties?
Yes, but there is always Wal-Mart.
Hey! There is a dog out there; I wonder why.
In your yard? No, but walking this way. Maybe I should get my bazooka.
You have a bazooka?
You are darn right I do, and I know how to use it.
I have to go. I see a strange guy in the neighborhood.
I have to call 911.
What is he doing?
Nothing.................yet.....
