I Am Friends With You

You know that we fought
Let us stop on the spot
We have always been friends
A friends love never ends

You know that it’s true
That I am friends with you
Let us keep this together
Through the toughest of weather

I am baring my heart
Cause I know it is smart
To keep you my friend
From a love with no end

Would you love me the same
And get rid of this game
Just come give me a hug
Don’t walk away with a shrug

I would let you go
But I want you to know
There is no-one to blame
So do not feel shame

We do have to put a lot of effort into maintaining our friendships, John. I admire the way you extend the olive branch and offer "love with no end." Any true friend would appreciate such a gesture and put any past difficulties behind them. Great poem! Love, Carolyn
