I Am Every Orphan
Say a name. Let it resound
And for a moment let it be me
Ice water was my name
Say any name and I will stand still
For I too have a name, but ice water is all know
Gathering of momentum as i hawk
I am every orphan can you relate?
After a hard life of strife
A loving arms embrace
A loving home, strife erase
I am not part
Yet, I will never be set apart.
And just to add a tint of life’s Merciful coloring
Every home should have one us, which was not already a part.
Fleeting dreams of anticipation to be adult
as I am made to understand that I am not at fault
I am every orphan.
When families care we do not roam the streets
Although the food always run out before our turn, we share
Were we to linger back to the ground that swallowed up hope for the night’s rest?
Just when we thought Good men come in rations
A people who heard visited with the gift of restored life
And Left us smiling like fools at our strife
Drying up tears, in this face of many blessings.
I am every orphan
If only someone will speak, if only someone will listen
Momentary gain is that which soothe not another’s pain
For those who speak for the orphans, cause ripples
And their names resound in eternity
Corporate, Man or woman you can find your maternity
So before the next orphan develops enmity
Remember I am every vulnerable child.
I am every orphan, you are my voice
I am you, you are me
We are orphans
