I Am Better For It

Because you told me no, when I wanted so much to be right,
I am better for it,
When I was going down the wrong path, you told me ,
You didn't care how much I would fight,
I am better for it,
When I was so in love and wanted everyone to like it,
You told me that it was not love and you were right,
I am better for it,
When I thought I was grand, living in a lie,
You wouldn't let my BS fly,
I am better for it,
Whether I listened or did it right,
You kept working , trying to get me to take flight,
I am better for it,
When I cried you dried my tears, eased my fears, but you pushed me back out there,
I am better for it,
When I listened to you I would soar, 
You knew my potential and wanted me to give more,
I am better for it,
Now that you are gone I realize your dream for me, 
I am better for it!
