I Am Beautiful
when I look at the mirror
I see no difference from a man
when I look at an abuser
I see torture and pain
I might have a deficiency of melanin
but I'm beautiful
I might be living with albinism,
but still I'm beautiful
I might have less pigment in my skin
But I'm adorable
who shall I trust when I'm always looking over my shoulders fearing for my life?
Who shall I trust when you think I'm different to humankind?
All I want to know is why
is it because of money?
is it because I look funny?
are you questioning my ability?
But after all I'm beautiful
and you can't take that away from me
I deserve same treatment
not because of my pigment
but because I'm a human
