I Am An Old Woman Now

...and still I think of you,
thoughts of you have become shadows cast upon the picture of my life.

I am ensconced in darkness,
Yet I know the moon is shining, and the stars are bright.

If I build a fortress on the mountain side,
How many dreams will I find that won't come true?

I am an old woman now,
still I feel the beating of my heart
and keep hearing the same blues in the night.
