I Am Amanda

I am Amanda. I am Loveable.
I'm your mother.
I'm your daughter.
I'm your sister, your aunty, your niece.
Your wife.
I am your best friend.

I would love to give you
my women-heart
so you man, can understand
how deeply I love you. For,
I've come to understand
a women's love is different.
It brings me to my knees in pain

For you!

My father.
My son.
My brother, my uncle, my nephew.
My husband.
My best friend...

Why do you?
hurt me
slander me
rape me
humiliate me
degrade me

Why, oh why, do I -
still - love you?

My eyes betray...
my heart, It
brings me to my knees
brings me to my knees
brings me to my knees

till I hug this earth
with all I am

I am Amanda
I am loveable
