-i Am Alive-

It may seem like I’m running away,
But what else can I say?
Save your insults for another day,
I am alive.

Having escaped from what killed me,
I am here and now, I hope you see.
I'll be who I'll be,
I am alive.

Though it seems I've cheated at this game,
The crowd of people still call my name.
Things won't be the same,
I am alive.

I am a human, not something to criticize,
If it's not broken, leave it, be wise.
I no longer hear your cries,
I am alive.

Oh God, Mother, I tell you!
Even though I don't know what to do,
Somehow I'm still making it through.
I am alive.

I am not a machine, I am learning,
To be that human while slowly earning.
I am no longer yearning,
I am alive.

Break me as you please, I'll still come back,
Now that I'm finding what I lack.
With life on track,
I am alive.
