I Am a Wounded Warrior With Wings

Do you think I was gonna lie down with my gloves on and not fight?
Do you think I was gonna bow down to you because you thought you was better
       than me?
My flames may have been flickering quickly but Oh how I shine now like a beacon
through my kaleidoscope with my colorful soul reaching out to the farthest distance
              of beyond.
As my light cascades across the sky and catches a ride on the moonbeams I wonder,
"If others can see me spread my beautiful wings and soar finally?"
Can't you see the elemental stage I have evolved to from where you're standing?
Oh how I shine so brightly that it's almost blinding you with such amazing aura that
I bestow upon thee from above.
So you see I will not be extinguished as you say, as I sit among the stars while on top
of a white puffy cloud looking down, glowing like fireflies in the dark.
For I am home now in the heavens from where I was once plucked from,
I Am A Wounded Warrior With Wings.

Angela I got goosebumps when I read this - the imagery is wonderful. I wrote a poem for my dad called 'the crying candle' i wanted it to go in the order of service but there is no room so i will get someone to read it tomorrow. So lovely when we can do a personal tribute to those we love. Stay strong - I will drop by again and do visit me too:-) Hugs Jan xx 7 xx

He would be laughing at us this very moment - we just discovered the order of service shows February instead of March - a rush job to reprint them in the morning by the printers - guess we read what we want to read lol! Hugs Jan xx
