I Am a Sailor
A sailor I am who
For decades have been sailing over the
Seas of life
Fierce storms I faced, during the daring
Voyages that I took ,
Tempests that instilled much fear into
My heart
And
Hurricanes that threatened my very existence
But
All this never were able to deter me from riding
The waves
For
The intrepidity of youth, was filling my hope’s sails with
Defying dreams
Thus
I navigated amongst the perilous reefs of failure without
Any troubles
Guided by the light of expectation’s beacon that shined
Forever bright
So
The calm oceans of realizations I reached, after a little while, that
Crossing them, a great joy it was, cause for celebration,
So
When my adventurous self reached its destination, after
Many decades,
Into
The age's harbor of tranquility, finally I entered, just before the sun
Went down
Where
My life’s boat I anchored, having pulled down the sails first,
And
Now, as I am preparing myself the upcoming sunset
To enjoy,
Very nostalgic I have become, just thinking with delight,
The
Many fearsome storms, I once, had faced!*
