I Am A Human Too

I am human too,

just like you.

I feel pain,

the quiet ache beneath my skin,

just like you.

 

Please don’t try to hurt me,

because I am human too.

I am not a machine without feeling,

not a heart of metal,

not a body made of steel.

 

I am human too.

see me as a human.

 

I carry emotions within me,

just like you.

The only difference is

I tried to hold them back,

to keep them calm and contained.

 

But because of your behavior,

those walls began to break.

I lost that fragile control.

I am human too.

I feel pain too,

just like you.

My heart can bruise.

I feel pain.
