I Am A Fool

I thought that ideals were worth dying for
Not content to look away and ignore
Believed ends rarely justify the means
Knew the truth is not only what it seems
Admired sacrifices that helped the other
Could always find one to call my brother
Looked deeply at what I was craving
Figured out every life merits saving
Put all my faith into the Golden Rule
These are the true things that make me a fool
