I Am

I am the look that captures your attention
the burning desire to act on a whim
I am the daybreak when dark becomes light
when the tide settles down for the day
I am a speck of sand that takes a ride
around the world stuck to something valuable
I am a shimmering pool in the distance
the reflection of a mirror near by
I am no one and everyone in the eyes
of someone who cares too much and
not enough
I am your wondering thoughts, your
compassion, your muse.
