I Am

“If you cannot be a poet, be the poem.”~ David Carradine

I am the body, the mind and the soul
The rhythm, the rhyme and the song,
I am the moonlit nights rendezvous
and the days of fun and frolic
I possess the spirit of the Shaman
and the lure of wayward muse
The ever pining spirit of the poet
A wandering soul from the astral plane
I am the inspiration
the flight of imagination
where the whimsical wind weaves
amazing mazes,
Poetry is the staple of life
the elixir of mind
the quintessence of spirit,

If I cannot be the poet
I’ll be the poem—
at once captivating, and liberating.
