I Am

I am…
Son, sculpted by my mother to be what I am today
Husband, holding my wife’s caring hands all the way
Father, in lonely nest, all the chicks have flown away
Friend of chosen ones, at ease with all my odd ways
Poet of whelmed heart, muse pouring out emotions
Star-gazer, entranced by dreams on stardust in motion
Painter, letting passion spread on canvas spectral wings
Perfectionist, finding it difficult to finish so many things
Believer, in the construct of my life by destiny’s finesse
Ordinary, believing in the possible, pursuing happiness
Seeker of wisdom, walk in humble steps on rough road
Taker of whatever is given as the precious gifts of God
Hater of tears, flowing from the broken hearts’ debris
Giver of touch of empathy, so sorrow becomes history
Loner in my own inner sky, flying the introspective flight
Traveler, finishing the journey on the last mile in twilight.

I am waiting to sail to eternity on time’s receding plain
I am sure I’ll return, walk on my faded footprints again.

The last line to walk on faded footprints again says the most about you I guess. I am really glad to know a brilliant poet like you a little closely. God bless you. Congratulations on your win :)
