Depression grasps hold of her heart Joy she never will be able to impart Her head is aching – she is breaking Where will relief be found? In some other town? Wait for the words that come alive When reading from the word that will revive His word will lift you up Overflow your empty cup Take it and let it move your soul Addiction holds his happiness down He can only curse with a frown His life is going worse- he is perverse How will he ever know truth? Is it because he is a youth? Wait for the words that come alive When reading from the word that will revive His word will lift you up Overflow your empty cup Take it and let it move your soul Grief has taken over their life Their only hope is filled with strife They feel their mind quaking Is a heart slowly breaking? They are shaking. The Bible will answer their questions It is filled with God’s blessings For overcoming the greatest trials And learning what brings smiles It is a lesson on leaning on the Lamb Jesus is always the very best I AM

Hello Regina … addiction runs rife and ruins families, friends, and it doesn't exclude rich or poor. Nobody the world over appears to have a physical answer to it - a sad and frustrating topic Regina but very true - Lindsay

Hi Regina, Good thought provoking lyrics. Over the years I've noticed most folk turn to God ( myself included) when they or in trouble or in a crisis( when they realize it) Who needs a doctor when they feel fine? Thanks for penning such lyrics:-) Alexis

It's good you can get comfort in the Bible. I guess I just don't have what it takes to get comfort from it though I read it a few times in my life. i do believe in an afterlife and my only comfort is that when I die , things have to get better!!! this is an inspirational poem for religious people.

I don't know if I'm exactly religious... I just have complete faith in Jesus and know He is the way, the truth and the life and I love reading His word. I'll pray for your faith to grow stronger. Prayers.

not everyone turns to faith when they are faced with a crisis sadly... this world has so many lost in addiction and pain that may survive if they knew how to pray... good penning my friend! Enjoyed this even in the poignancy :) hugs
