I Alone

I wake up alone to start my day,
With the silence in my head, and my thoughts at bay.

I get up from a restless night, as my spirit looks to take that one final flight.

The sun is shining, and the breeze is cold, is it me, or am I getting too old?

I look forward as the miles pass by, as I see the end with a beautiful blue sky,

I look to the clouds to find my soul, but I'm losing myself, and that last goal.

But time goes on and fears fade, and I say to myself, look what we've made.

The only thing that we've all got, is the dreams in our heads, or at least the ones we caught.
