I

Each day I become a victim Each day I am traumatized I gave birth to humanity Yet I am forced! I raised humanity Yet I am threatened! Men think I am pretty Then why am I there slave? They say they love us But why do they rape? Are we Pawpaw’s? Of which everyone eats the outer flesh! and the inner seeds are thrown away! Failing to realize that it is the inner seed which gives rise to a tree of pawpaw Are we old clothes? Which people discard after they get new ones! And never look back at them! Failing to realize that once it was this clothe which covered them Each day I become a victim Each day I am traumatized (Written from a perspective of an ordinary South Pacific Island woman)
