I, Will - For Make Me Lol Contest

I just wrote my lady a poem
I thought it a romantic ode
She said that the thought was what counted
But was I in semantic mode

My words were perhaps a bit literal
No simile nor metaphor
Like, ‘You light the fire of my passion’
Instead of just, ‘You’re a bit phwaaar’

She said could you write more like Shakespeare
I told her, ‘My darling I will’
So I shaved my head through the middle
Then went out and bought me a quill
