Notes About The Poem
For Hiya Sharma's Contest " Hymn Of The Heart", Date July 24, 2026
Hymn Of The Heart
The sparkling dawn serenely veneers
my heart’s horizon with halcyon hues,
spreads the sunburst tinges of timeless yearning,
paints a golden garden in my heart’s canvas,
blooming with the lilac luster of my love,
unfurls the facsimile of your astral floral face.
In the passion sea of my yearning the rapture waves
shine like swirling sapphire of your smile illumined.
With the magnetic moonbeam lattice of your charm,
its sparkle splashes on my essence entwined.
As the pristine patina of the florescent flowers
flushes fresh your cherubic cheeks resplendent,
glittering with seraphic grandeur of pearls,
mesmeric melody wraps the meadow of my mind
where I “hear these hibiscus hymns”
in the ether of encompassing euphoria.
In the scintillating stream of zooming zephyr,
as you drift away unconcerned past me,
and blow a devastating storm of indifference,
my fervor is fragmented in the debris of delight.
In the vivacious valley of my verdant heart,
configured by the chromatic contours of your charm,
I carve an ardent conduit of yearning to reach you.
The fervent cloud of my captivating craving
melts in an endless torrent of engulfing emotion
where you disappear under the waves of despair.
Wandering listless in the desiccated wasteland
of the waning memory of divested longing,
my tear drops roll in relentless lyrical rhythm
on the dismal domain of melancholy
where once “I kissed the opera octave”.
I now hear the emotive echo of the last song
you sang for me, fading away forgotten.
You’ll never know, deprived of your love
in the downhearted time,
“the song my soul never seeks”.
