Husband Says Husband Thinks

Sara married Charlie, and instantly became caught up in his web. He was a Catholic, so she converted. He was a Democrat, so now she was too. They were both serious now, even though she had been a party girl before. His opinions were her opinions. Charlie says. Charlie thinks. Charlie, Charlie. But that got boring, so she married Bobbie. They were exactly the same After she converted and became Southern Baptist. She learned the guitar too. They played the guitar for two years all over West Kentucky. Joined at the hip. His opinions were her opinions. Bobbie says. Bobbie thinks. Bobbie, Bobbie. Sara is on husband number nine. His name is Chet. She is now an independent, not believing in any politics, a New Age convert. They go to psychic fairs, showing gemstones. They both read Tarot cards. His opinions are her opinions. Chet says. Chet thinks. Chet, Chet, Chet. Sara is still trying to find herself, but going about it in a very strange way…

Tis so sad, for unless she ditches them all, how will she ever?

Hi Caren, there are some very dogmatic husbands whose wives dare not be contrary or voice their own opinion, and it seems to be a pattern, a woman like this will never be independent unless she leaves this husband, and she need not think she can change him after they are married - it doesn't work! Poor Sara! Hugs, Jenny.

It is crazy to me, for I can relate in no way at all. I thought it had only happened one time, but now I am hearing other stories and it seems to be a pattern others are also familiar with.

I wish there were a map indeed. It is so very sad. We really need to remember to be who we are, if they love us then the do... otherwise, we are signing up for the failure train... Wonderful and a "true" write my friend. Excellent and painful to read, due to personal remembrances only. lol... Ann

It is crazy to me, for I have a feeling I would become insanely mad if I were to out-guess my man's opinions and values, and bring them into my dendrite brain as my own.
