In the godly man’s heart, it is more than chivalry that isn’t dead. Just as there are rare women of virtue to find, so are there men of God who are a treasure to have.
The husband and father needed today,
Guided by the Pillar of Fire by night, and Cloud by day.
His Chief Shepherd the Lord, provider of house and home.
He knows with God, he’s not alone.
Eager to work beyond his pay,
his family his fuel, throughout the day.
He rises early, back to the sun,
When everyone’s resting, his works not done.
Brings home the kill, goes back for more,
kissing his queen before leaving his door.
He is the brain behind the helm,
braves the storms of life, and overwhelm.
Herds the cattle, whether beast or men,
His house and family to defend.
Gives only his queen his precious seed,
His name and honor, seeks to breed.
Raises daughters of honor, boys to men,
His lady his loyal and faithful friend.
Looks to God alone, when his strength gives way,
Trusts only the Lord to save the day.
Brings mirth to his children, and joy to his wife,
For them he’d fight, and lay down his life.
The husband and father needed today,
Is men among men in every way.
Yet he is soft in heart as his arms are strong,
He is everything right amidst everything wrong.
