Hurt

Hurt is a feeling that one can never forget.
An emotion not used on friends and yet,
You claimed to be my friend and I foolishly believed you,
Until that day I heard you had passed on and to find out twenty years later
It wasn’t true.
The biggest hurt of all was everyone knew but me and it wasn’t true.
I guess my feelings weren’t important to you
And now you’re back again
Acting like those twenty years never happened and life is like it’s has always Been.
But this time it’s not the same my friend,
I grieved for someone I thought I’d never see again, someone I thought
Was more than a friend.
Maybe one day I’ll forgive the hurt you caused me,
Maybe one day I’ll go to the mountains and see,
The man who held out his hand and said to me
Come to the mountains my lady
