Hurricane Katrina
" Hurricane Katrina "
She came upon us with all her fury
her force that was ugly and mean
she unpacked a damaging power
way down in the New Orlean.
Everyone knew she was coming
broadcast all over the news
chaos had followed her destruction
confusing government views.
It was the Big Easy levees
that quickly came tumbling down
the flooding waters cost most the lives
as the reason many had drown.
Our government and rescuer response
was a snails pace too slow
as the high number of deaths
destined to grow and grow.
Way too many people packed
in a damaged super dome
with no where else to go
they all have lost their home.
Many fine American people
reached out to assist
no wonder our great country
is tops on everyone’s list.
For so many days soon after
the flood waters were still high
the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina
has caused so many to die.
There were no roads left to travel
not a one of them was dry
the primary means of rescue
was right out of the sky.
This mighty force of nature
destroying New Orlean
Hurricane Katrina
was ugly and was mean...
