Notes About The Poem

Hurricane

HURRICANE

whirlwind of the sea ~
ferocious spinning disc
gaining speed and wrath

the hurricane’s eye
with torrential force of tears
~ winds tortuous strength

wild waves warn the coast
with boats crashing into docks
~ only lunes remain

palms are tested as
coconuts plummet like hail
~ storm assails sailboats

Objects settle wind
to lesser tropical storm ~
sea salt soothes the wounds

Kim, the last line is so clever , bringing it all back to the sea and salt to lick the wounds! I think I must think up a clever way to do this contest as you have done.
