Hunting Frog

Hunting Frog, late night
Splash, a stream of piercing light
bubbles from beneath

I watch, amazed at
the path they follow across
the pond in a line

explosive, the sound
as the wet armadillo
touches the still earth

reminds me of the time I was night fishing and I was frightened by a beaver slapping its tail on the water. at first I had no idea what it was. we soon became friends that summer. this is a great write, loved the imagery!...very nice!

Awesome Choka sequence. I've never seen an armadillo except on TV or at a zoo. Sounds like country fun! Good luck in the contest and thanks for your lovely and thoughtful comment on my blog. Welcome to PoetrySoup! Love, Shar
