Hunger
I can see my universe nightly
And study the bodies that I see
While that is almost, almost enough
Half the picture is missing from me
Cacophony or a symphony
The vacuum of space muffles our ears
I can see an orchestra of stars
Playing soft music that no one hears
Trillions of stars playing their own tune-
Perhaps they all roar like a jet plane
But maybe they sound like ocean waves
Perhaps it's the sound of Summer rain
I hunger to know what that sound is
While knowing that I'm best in silence
The universe seems in explosion
And there's always noise in violence
So I continue to stare aloft
And wonder just what sounds are in play
Someday I will know - or I will not
Are violins in the Milky Way ?
