humoring Uncle Johnny

Uncle Johnny’s stories were preposterous
borderline silly
but we pretended to believe
for Aunt Tilly’s sake
She never challenged his foolishness
Pretending his insanity was normal
We did not understand why
but we played along, letting her lead the way
