Hummingbirds
rarely heard...
the ruby-throated
humming bird
of ontario nests...
in tiny plant flower cups...
bound together with
spider silk then feeds on
the nectars and spiders...
to yield two grams of fat...
that fuels eight hundred miles
of seasonal flight north
or south from woodlands...
and gardens to...
other woodlands
and gardens to
feed off flowers...
stans sand
