Humble Power of Nine

Once upon a time there was a Nine,
Not quite blessed with fancy frills to shine,
Subdued by Ten’s ample ambition,
Accepted its humble position.
Nevertheless, striving for the best, 
Any time subjected to the test.
Not quite blessed with fancy frills to shine,
Its odd power not to undermine.
Once upon a time Vivat to Nine!
