Humanity's Arrow

Rising above the bitten berry
Full of the liquid heat known as envy
Shooting eclipses through broken glass windows
Knowing you reign aloof
Travel on wings of a poet's quill
Burnt on the sides from your finger's will
Steady your conscious integrity while
you pickle your insides with rum
We'll never know if you lisp or you limp
We'll never know all the thoughts that you think
while you fly overhead and cast us a glance
in your shadow oblong but correct
Fist to my heart as I read you loosely
Trench that you've dug in my road resolutely
Free to be caught by attention's salute
but passed by humanity's arrow.
