Humanity Worn Away

Please cease fire! For God’s sake,

can’t you see there are lives at stake?

A flash of light

brightens the night,

there was silence in the air,

and no time to fear,

the bombs drew closer,

the innocent watches,

eyes shaded,

lives faded,

scarred rubble,

everything gray,

humanity worn away.

Very intense write. Vivid iagery here. Very well written to say the least.

there is a sense of immediate danger to this that makes it hysterical which works well with the theme, how else would a person feel when threatened with annihilation.
