For me the brevity of this piece adds to the impact. It allows the reader to develope the narrative. I could learn from this as a number of my pieces can be verbose.

In backtracking contests I had entered I discovered this one in which I placed but not acknowledged. It came as a pleasant surprise to me that I placed and albeit late in acknowledging your comments, I wanted to thank you and let you know I appreciate your support.

Nicely and thoughtfully-penned, Curtis - I have written a couple of pieces on this violence that keeps erupting. We need to keep talking and writing about it, I believe, it's not going to go away without concerted efforts to change the hearts of those who have lost the appreciation for life. OOooo, such a grand write about these shootings we've been having lately! Yes, they are cowards, shooting innocent people, hiding behind a gun, and taking his frustrations off on people...so wrong in so many ways! I loved the way you wrote this...a difficult feat to do...writing an Acrostic with short lines! The Acrostic makes the lines so limited at the beginning of each line, that it is amazing that you could get the right words in so perfectly! What an ingenious poem my friend, Great Work!!
