Human Nature Vs. Human Kindness
We cannot deny we all strive for the same.
Some want money in order to have more.
Some want in order to just get by.
Some want in order to eat and provide.
Any way you look at it
We are all horses,
With carrots dangling in front of us
As we too have blinders on.
While striving we forget the many
That just need rather than want,
That are unable to achieve,
That cannot do it themselves.
Are we successful if we acquire
And forget to share?
Are we morally correct in our striving?
Let us not worry about that extra car
Or buying a new TV
Or having an extra pair of shoes.
Let us worry about the family
That just lost their father
Due to a drunk driver,
That we saw on TV
Where the smallest child had no shoes.
We were not placed here
To better our living conditions,
For that will better itself
When we help others
Better theirs.
