Notes About The Poem
The only person who won't ever disappoint you is Jesus. Everyone else just plain can't be trusted so never tell anyone but Him anything you don't want to be able to be used against you at a later date. --- because it just might be.
HUMAN BEINGS
Man is a complex creature.
He has many facets and sides.
He can seem easy going, complacent,
Next minute he wants your hide.
Sometimes he's filled with charity;
With good will and love for all things.
Sometimes he's grumpy and scornful,
Or struts like he's some little king.
He's industrious, helpful, well meaning,
Also lazy, lack luster, unkind.
When he's at his best he's a blessing.
A worse enemy would be hard to find.
He destroys all that surrounds him,
Then moves on to greener fields.
He's a parasite sucking the good from life,
Leaving a sore that won't heal.
In an effort to feather his own little nest,
And better his life, acquire fame,
He'll step on and crush whoever he must,
In his unending quest for gain.
Considering the fickleness of Man,
His greed, his lust, his brain fog,
I have decided when seeking a friend,
I'd be better off with a dog.
