Huh

three trotting turtles
slowly raise a cloud of dust
neck and neck finish

six hissing serpents
surreptitiously slither
escaping their pasts

three city ground hogs
shaking their "jay-lo" booties
cross against the light

Huh? Turtles trotting, and ground hogs coming out of their city holes to cross against a traffic light? Three dead ground hogs and I want to know what you've been drinking.
