Huck's River

Huck's River

Down on the river we slow movin'
Driftin' along without reprovin'
From any one or their behoovin'
Livin' life free from all disprovin'

But there's a price for this free-livin'
Without no rules some be misgivin'
Takin' what's yours with no thanks givin'
Driftin' along can be quite sievin'

With freedom responsibility
Comes or this life breeds futility
Raftin' the river's docility
Can lead to rapid hostility...

Love this finely crafted piece. As well as the country style slang words you used to rhyme! I have several poems using much the same words myself... A7 THANKS FOR THE NOTIFICATION OF THE TYPO IN MY POEM PRESENTED TODAY..

Ha! Love it, Deb. Told my math teacher I lost my homework in the river, and she (rightly) rolled her eyes at me in scorn. Oh well, the answer for this poem is still the square root of 49. I'm also reminded that, "With Mogwai comes much responsibility."
