Hubbys Folly

We are off on a long DRIVE to see the famous, re-known big FIVE, Three hours later at the Kruger National Park we safely arrive, And cruise among predatory country, beautiful, colorful wildlife, Full of LIFE the two of us, my husband and his very excited WIFE. We see a pride of LIONS, and park next to a tour bus of HAWAIIANS, They seem ecstatic, cameras clicking, among them Uruguayans, They follow us, as they seem to think we will know where to go, Continue over a bridge SLOW, see crocodiles drifting with the river FLOW. Still the tour BUS continues and winds its way whenever they see US, We see cheetah, leopards, a herd of elephants, an absolute plus, We stop, the tour bus stops too, at a waterhole, but leave, close by are bees, We spot rhinos, baboons, eagles perched on TREES, a warthog on its KNEES! The tourist’s excitement contagious and SPILLS, we come across horn BILLS, Big birds, the secretary bird, Goliath herons, but the horn bills by the hills, Excite them the most, we had befriended each other and my husband said, These birds don't FLY, upon which they flew off towards the SKY, hubby so red! Nice writing Jenny once again, it's quite a tale you tell here as it's one with great penmanship and fine expression. I never saw the big 5 when in SA though was at a safari park near George but still an amazing experience. hugs and blessings, Gordon

Your hubby will think twice before telling you another bird can't fly! Really enjoyed the "safari" you took us on, Jennifer. I felt like I was riding the bus with you. Excellent writing with creative rhymes! Best wishes in the contest, Hon. Hugs, Carolyn

Hi Carolyn thank you for a wonderful comment my friend. I think I have to also think twice about reading the rules and regulation of contests better. I entered two and misread both contest rules. I am so involved in our business and that unfortunately or fortunately is our livelihood so I spend more time on that since we are working at home and it has proved to be more successful than being in an office with 4 ladies working for us. We had to let three go and we kept our best - also working from her home. God bless, Love Jennifer.

I do not have to come to South Africa now, as I feel I have already been there and seen all of the best sights.

Jennifer, I was saddened to see my comment from yesterday disappeared! I agree with all below who loved your rhymes of lion/Hawaiian/Uruguayan, but really, ALL of them! A great tale told in your inimitable style, with the many animals, the tour bus following you, and your hubby turning red because the birds actually do fly! Charming from start to finish. I was wondering if you ever spotted Charlize Theron (rhymes with heron, haha!) A fave! Hugs ~ John

My dear friend, this really upsets me, how did it disappear, i would never delete it unless it was an accident on my part. Funny Christopher also mentioned Charlize Theron saying she is not the only best surprise that came from Benoni in South Africa. Thank you for a great comment as always John, but I would like to find out how your comment disappeared. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer

Hi Pixie, there are always funny incidents that happen in every family and if we all wrote about them they would make a nice book that people could read and have a laugh at like your hubby and the watermelon and my hubby and birds that don't fly that do! We do meditation at yoga but i'm hopeless, i just get the giggles I can't seem to get it righst. An I so want to not be stressed. Hug and blessings my friend and thank you for an awesome comment! What a wonderful time you must have had, both you and your hubby, in spite of the faux pas turning his face red o’er what he’d said... loved the poem ~ Belle
