How Would I Know
How would I know her pain, her struggles
She cooks for him
She gives him money
He is her favourite child
She mostly praises him
But it's tough for her sometimes
Sometimes most times
He doesn't always adhere to the rules
Sometimes his mind tells him things
Sometimes he carries a machete and scares everybody
Sometimes he gets into fights, depending on what his minds tells him
Depending on the voices in his head
Depending on the people and things he sees
How would I know how it feels to raise a healthy child all the way to adulthood
A genius child
A child who excelled in school
A child who could build anything and everything
A child who could go anywhere, a child who could be anything
Only to change in adulthood
Only to become a mental illness case
Another diagnosis, one after another
They label him
And they label her too
She is an "enabler"
How would I know her pain, her struggles
To my mother, to my brother
