How Will They See You
The looks,
The stares,
The awkward glances,
The whispers,
The rumors,
The indignation,
The imagination of seeing,
Yourself in the eyes of others.
How Will They See You?
Will you ever be their equal.
I hear the names they call me and,
See the hatred in their eyes.
It hurts like a burning sword,
Going thru my heart.
So now I am invisible,
I am no longer in their world.
I learn to protect myself.
I choose to be a survivor.
I graduate never ever to return.
Yet, years later I come face to face,
With these bullies, these abusers,
They talk but I hear nothing.
They are invisible in my world.
