How To Say Goodbye

I don’t know the words to say goodbye
I don’t have tears left to cry
How to say I love you when you’re gone
How to journey on

You will always be there when I need you
Our love will always prosper and be true
But how to say I’ll see you in tomorrow
If we could end in sorrow

Our world is full of sudden shock
Moments when angel’s eyes will lock
So how can I be sure I’ll see you
When any moment death could take his due

Our meeting was so brief I could’ve dreamt it
The candle is now burnt that once was lit
One moment there and then you’re gone
Leaving me alone to carry on

So let me tell you that I love you
Death is but a cloud across the blue
If either of our days are done
Know my love for you outshines the sun

You've touched on a very real conundrum, in such a nice, poetic way, Olivia. Two thumbs up! Blessings, Gershon

There was a poet call Rumi who said goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes...For those who love with their hearts there is no such thing as goodbye... Great deeply emotive poem

Those we love will live in our hearts until we join them one day. Thanks for the comment! -Olivia
